This very educational article truly shines a light and stresses the importance of hygiene. There are four main reasons to why hygiene is so crucial. They are disease prevention, Social and Professional Acceptance, Higher confidence and self-esteem, and finally Pain Prevention. The goal of Hope for Hygiene has always been to give proper hygiene to the people experiencing homelessness because for these reasons, especially disease prevention and pain prevention, it is so important.
Solv Health says it perfectly here, “Good hygiene lowers your risk for diseases and illnesses commonly spread through viruses and bacteria. Your hands come into contact with bacteria every time you cough, use the restroom, touch your pet, or touch surfaces, such as stair railings, used frequently by others.”
Germs and diseases can be shared so easily and by simply providing these hygiene bags to the homeless we can decrease there chance of disease and pain dramatically.
If there is anything to take away from this post is that people should stress good hygiene and it should not have to be a privilege, everyone should have access.
